PC HARDWARE

allegedly quietly stops making Arc B580 GPU for pro AI workstations – a story PC builders should pay attention to. Arc B580 has been getting price increases since launch so if it is indeed discontinued, existing stock levels will be the last chance to get it. This is important for anyone interested in cheap 1080p gaming GPU. If you are in the market for an affordable gaming 1080p GPU – pay attention to availability now.

Leaker claims Intel may halt production to prioritize Arc Pro workstation GPUs

Intel Arc B580 is based on Intel's BMG-G21 GPU with 20 Xe cores and 12GB of GDDR6 memory. It was released by Intel in December 2024 at $249 MSRP, targeting mid-range gaming segment. Latest listings show it costs about $330 in the US and about £500 in the UK.

  • GPU Core: BMG-G21
  • Xe Cores: 20
  • Memory: 12 GB GDDR6
  • Launch Price: $249

According to the latest rumor, Intel might discontinue Arc B580 to focus more on higher-margin Arc Pro workstation GPUs. This is according to leaker Haze who says that Intel is shifting resources to Arc Pro B50/B60 due to demand for AI inference. Officially, Intel has not announced end-of-life for consumer Arc B580.

We've been following Arc B580 very closely with all sorts of software optimizations (for example, utility that allows to increase VRAM window sizes for legacy mobos). Similar diversion of resources was reported in the supply chain for . They allegedly divert GB202 chips for RTX 5090 to pro RTX Pro GPUs. It's unstable time for consumer GPUs as they keep shifting to enterprise AI hardware.

Arc B580 is still a good value for budget gamers until stock runs out or prices go up. Current supply situation represents the conflict of interest between consumers and AI needs in enterprise segment. We'll update this story if Intel officially announces anything with Arc B580 production.

The jump from $249 to $330 is already painful. If they kill it now I am waiting for the next gen.
