Capcom has introduced a new Ability Enhancer system for the Resident Evil 9 Requiem DLC titled Leon Must Die Forever. This update allows players to extract points from defeated enemies to unlock various combat abilities. The system provides a method for customizing gameplay through strategic point allocation and ability shuffling.
New ability system lets players extract points from enemies to unlock combat bonuses and customize gameplay.
The Ability Enhancer offers a range of mechanical bonuses that alter combat dynamics. The Phantom Assassin ability provides a 100 percent increase to firepower. The Scatter Shot ability increases firepower by 0.05 percent per shot, reaching a maximum cap of 60 percent. Players can also select the Unyielding Judge ability, which grants double attack speed and infinite ammunition while causing zombies to explode upon death for 30 seconds.
Other available upgrades include the Parry Recovery Effect, which restores 40 percent of Hatchet durability on a successful Perfect Parry. The Sharpshooter Weakpoint Bonus delivers a 50 percent firepower increase on weakpoints but reduces damage to other enemy parts by 30 percent. The Mixed Blessing upgrade increases rare weapon drop chances but raises damage taken by 20 percent. Additional options include the Tough Stuff Melee Damage Reduction, which lowers close combat damage taken by 30 percent, and the Streamlined Damage Boost, which adds 1.5 percent damage output for each empty slot in the attaché case.
Players can shuffle their selected abilities by spending 20 points. This flexibility allows for dynamic adaptation to different combat scenarios within the DLC. The system encourages experimentation with various build combinations to optimize performance against enemy types.
