Capcom has introduced specific weapon maintenance mechanics for Leon S. Kennedy in the upcoming title Resident Evil: Requiem. The game features a hatchet that serves as a core combat tool, requiring players to manage its durability through distinct methods depending on the selected game mode.

In Story Mode, maintenance involves holding L1/LB and pressing the reload button to sharpen the blade.

In the main Story Mode, maintaining the hatchet involves a simple input sequence. Players hold the L1 or LB button and press the Square or X button, which is normally used for reloading, to sharpen the blade.

The Leon Must Die Forever DLC mode treats the hatchet as a limited resource with different repair rules. Players can find Hatchet Repair items in supply boxes or boss arenas, obtain them from the Ability Enhancer, or utilize the Parry Recovery ability to restore the weapon.

This dual approach to weapon care allows for varied gameplay styles. The Story Mode method offers quick in-combat adjustments, while the DLC mode encourages resource management and strategic use of abilities to keep the hatchet functional against numerous enemies.

Capcom has not confirmed the launch window for Resident Evil: Requiem. The developer has not provided pricing or availability details for the title at this time.
