PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 1.020 is now live on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Console players gain direct control over visual experience with new graphics options

The update introduces two distinct graphics modes to replace the previous default settings. Resolution Priority mode targets image sharpness and graphical detail while capping performance at 60 FPS. Framerate Priority mode shifts focus to smoother visuals and more responsive controls, supporting frame rates up to 120 FPS. KRAFTON states these options are the first step toward a better gameplay experience for console users.

  • Update Version: 1.020
  • Game Content Version: 42.2
  • Supported Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X
  • Graphics Mode – Resolution Priority: Prioritizes image sharpness and graphical detail while maintaining stable performance at up to 60 FPS
  • Graphics Mode – Framerate Priority: Prioritizes smoother visuals and more responsive controls, supporting up to 120 FPS

New game modes and characters expand the available content for this session. Players can now access Solo Deathmatch, an arcade mode featuring respawn mechanics and point-based scoring. A new Contender named Glasya joins the roster with an exclusive Execution Move at Level 2. The game also adds a Beginner Training mode with daily missions and rewards for new or returning players.

Performance optimizations and interface changes round out the technical details of this release. The Sanhok map received optimizations to reduce frame drops and improve combat smoothness. Console key bindings for inventory, driving, and map markers have been updated for better control. The world map UI now includes new tabs for Map, Missions, and Match Log to organize information.

Hot Drop Mode returns to consoles for a limited time starting July 23, 2026. This special mode runs until August 6, 2026, at 07:00 UTC. The update is available globally on all supported PlayStation and Xbox consoles. We looked at the PC version of this update earlier to track the content rollout across platforms.
