Oppo Find X10 Ultra 10x Telephoto Sensor Doubles in Size for 2027

Oppo Find X10 Ultra 10x telephoto sensor doubles in size to 1/1.95- inch for 2027, with Oppo testing Samsung and OmniVision options.

Oppo is preparing a major upgrade for its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Find X10 Ultra, by significantly enlarging the sensor behind its 10x telephoto lens. This hardware shift matters because a larger sensor captures more light, which directly improves photo quality in low-light conditions and expands dynamic range. Buyers who prioritize long-range photography will see the most tangible benefit from this change.

Oppo tests Samsung and OmniVision sensors for the 10x telephoto module

The device is currently in a pre-production test phase, with specifications derived from an unvalidated unit. Oppo is expected to launch the Find X10 Ultra in 2027, giving the company time to finalize its component choices. The short-telephoto lens, which offers 3x zoom, remains unchanged at 200MP resolution.

Oppo Find X10 Ultra 10x Telephoto Specs

  • 10x Telephoto Sensor Resolution: 50MP
  • 10x Telephoto Sensor Format: 1/1.95-inch
  • 10x Telephoto Sensor Options: Samsung ISOCELL GNB or OmniVision OV51A
  • 10x Telephoto Lens Design: Quintuple-reflection-prism, pure-telephoto
  • Short-Telephoto (3x) Sensor Resolution: 200MP

The 10x telephoto module retains a quintuple-reflection-prism design but swaps to a much larger 1/1.95-inch sensor format. This new sensor measures roughly 8.2mm diagonally, a substantial increase from the 5.8mm diagonal found in the predecessor Find X9 Ultra. The larger physical size effectively doubles the sensor area compared to the previous generation.

Oppo is currently testing two different sensor candidates for this 10x module: Samsung's ISOCELL GNB and OmniVision's OV51A. Both options provide a 50MP resolution, but the final supplier has not been confirmed as the company may swap components before launch. We touched on Oppo Find X10 Pro Max Cancellation in our earlier Oppo coverage.

The confirmed hardware details point to a clear focus on camera performance for the 2027 flagship. Oppo has locked in the prism design and the 50MP resolution target while deciding between two sensor manufacturers. The final product will likely deliver significantly better low-light capabilities than the current Find X9 Ultra.
