Microsoft Confirms Windows 11 Update Will Let Users Remap Copilot Key

Microsoft will add a setting to remap the Copilot key in a Windows 11 update coming in 2026. Users will be able to change the key to function as Right Ctrl or Context Menu.

Setting located under Bluetooth & devices

The setting will be located under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Keyboard. The change applies to all Windows 11 PCs that have a Copilot key, regardless of the manufacturer.

Microsoft is not allowing full remapping to macros or custom apps. The feature is limited to the two predefined options.

The update is expected to roll out globally in 2026. Microsoft has not provided a more specific release date.
