ERYING has introduced compact motherboards designed for desktops that use mobile-style Intel processors, a move that simplifies system building for embedded and compact PC projects. This approach lets builders use standard desktop cases and power supplies while leveraging the efficiency of mobile silicon. It matters because it bridges the gap between high-performance mobile chips and the expandability of desktop platforms.

Compact boards bridge mobile efficiency and desktop expandability
The boards host two new embedded processors: the Core i7-13798HRE and the Core i5-13598HRE. These chips are based on Intel's Raptor Lake architecture but lack working integrated graphics. Buyers must install a discrete graphics card to get video output, which the motherboard supports via a primary PCIe 5.0 x8 slot and a secondary PCIe 3.0 x4 slot.
Specifications
- CPU Model: Intel Core i7-13798HRE / Core i5-13598HRE
- CPU Cores/Threads: i7: 14 cores (6P+8E), 20 threads; i5: 12 cores (4P+8E), 16 threads
- Clock Speeds: i7: up to 5.0GHz; i5: up to 4.8GHz
- L3 Cache: i7: 24MB; i5: 18MB
- Motherboard Form Factor: 175 x 215mm
The i7 model features 14 cores with 20 threads, combining six performance cores and eight efficiency cores, while the i5 offers 12 cores with 16 threads. Both chips support DDR4 memory through two DIMM slots and include substantial L3 cache, with the i7 holding 24MB and the i5 holding 18MB. Storage options include one PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot, one PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot, and two SATA ports.
ERYING sets the power limits at 95W PL1 and 115W PL2 for these configurations. The company reports that the chips reach about 72 degrees Celsius at the higher power limit and 62 degrees Celsius at the lower limit. Synthetic benchmarks show the i7 scoring around 800 in CPU-Z single-core tests and nearly 8,000 in multi-core tests.
The Core i5-13598HRE motherboard is priced at 1,199 YUAN (around $178), which equals around $180 USD. The Core i7-13798HRE version costs 1,399 YUAN (around $208), or about $210 USD. Neither processor appears in Intel's public ARK database, suggesting these are specialized embedded parts rather than standard retail SKUs.
These motherboards measure 175 by 215 millimeters, fitting into small form factor cases. The rear I/O panel includes two 10Gbps USB-A ports, six USB 2.0 ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet jack. An M.2 slot on the board allows for wireless connectivity without requiring additional expansion cards.
