Pearl Abyss released Title Update 1.18.00 for the action RPG Crimson Desert, bringing targeted fixes for low-end hardware and new quality-of-life features. This update matters because it resolves graphical corruption issues that previously broke the experience for players using older GPUs. It also streamlines resource management and camera controls to reduce friction in daily gameplay.
Pearl Abyss releases update fixing low-end GPU glitches and research economy
The patch introduces a significant shift in the research economy by replacing silver with camp funds. This change simplifies the progression loop by tying research costs to a dedicated resource pool rather than the general currency. Players will need to adjust their farming habits to prioritize camp funds for advancing their knowledge trees.
Technical improvements focus heavily on stability and visual fidelity for legacy hardware. The developers fixed a bug where rendering appeared corrupted when enabling FSR Frame Generation or XeSS Frame Generation on low-end graphics cards like the GTX 1060. The update also adds Manual, Semi-auto, and Auto options for Lock-on Camera Rotation to give players more control during combat.
Additional updates enhance the horse management system and expand the knowledge interface. Players can now equip horse gear directly from the stable menu, removing the need for separate inventory steps. The patch also adds Quests as a new knowledge category with eight sub-categories to organize game objectives more clearly.
We looked at the last Crimson Desert update earlier while tracking recent patches, and several of the same balance and stability themes came up in this release. Pearl Abyss continues to refine the game's core loops through incremental technical fixes and UI adjustments. The update is now available for all players on supported platforms.
