EA is releasing version 1.4.3.0 for Battlefield 6 on September 15, bringing immediate changes to vehicle balance and new communication tools for players. This update matters because it alters the core combat dynamics in REDSEC mode and adds proximity chat, which shifts how teams coordinate in close quarters. Console gamers can preload the build now to be ready for the live release.

New communication tools and balance changes arrive September 15
The patch introduces two new content modes: the 'Deep Six' Collection Event and the 'Phantom Program' limited-time operation. It also adds Proximity Chat to REDSEC mode, featuring directional audio, environmental occlusion, and mute controls. These features aim to make team-based gameplay more immersive and tactical for users.
Vehicle balance sees significant adjustments with the RCB90 health increased from 800 to 1000. The AH-6 minigun overheat rate per bullet has risen by approximately 33 percent to balance its sustained fire. The Interdictor weapon now deals a minimum of 80 damage, up from 62, with improved effectiveness against armor. Data Extraction download times have also been cut from 15 seconds to 5 seconds to speed up gameplay loops.
Reticles across all optics have been overhauled to provide cleaner visuals and better readability. Custom Lobbies now support additional modes including Tactical Obliteration, Obliteration, Breakthrough, and Escalation. The Portal SDK receives updates with Sandbox Ocean functions, AI water navigation, and new map templates. We looked at the last Battlefield 6 update earlier while tracking these balance and stability themes.
A developer quote confirms awareness of a bug causing overly thick black borders on scopes for PlayStation 5 users. The team aims to resolve this visual issue with the 1.4.3.5 update arriving in a few weeks. The current version 1.4.3.0 is available for download, with console preload build 1.000.030 ready for early access.
