Valve has confirmed full pricing for the Steam Machine, its compact SteamOS gaming PC. The system will launch in four configurations, starting with the 512GB model at $1,049 in the United States. The 2TB model without the Steam Controller is priced at $1,349, while the top bundle with the controller costs $1,428.

According to the currently listed prices, the 512GB model will cost $1,509 CAD, €1,039, £879, $1,609 AUD or 4,389 zł. The 512GB package with the Steam Controller raises the price to $1,128, €1,108 or £938. The 2TB model is listed at $1,349, €1,359 or £1,149, while the 2TB bundle with the Steam Controller reaches $1,428, €1,428 or £1,208.

Steam Machine pricing USD CAD EUR GBP AUD PLN
Steam Machine 512GB $1,049 $1,509 CAD €1,039 £879 $1,609 AUD 4,389 zł
Steam Machine 512GB with Steam Controller $1,128 $1,628 CAD €1,108 £938 $1,728 AUD 4,698 zł
Steam Machine 2TB $1,349 $1,919 CAD €1,359 £1,149 $2,109 AUD 5,739 zł
Steam Machine 2TB with Steam Controller $1,428 $2,038 CAD €1,428 £1,208 $2,228 AUD 6,048 zł

The price gap between the standalone system and the controller bundle is $79 in the US. The 2TB bundle also includes two extra faceplates, one red fabric panel and one solid walnut panel. This confirms that Valve is using the 2TB option as the more complete retail package rather than only offering a storage upgrade.

Reservations are now open. Valve is using a randomized reservation system rather than a normal open sale. The sign-up period ends on June 25 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, and reservation results are expected to be emailed on June 29. Selected users will have 72 hours to complete the purchase.

Steam Machine uses a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads. The processor boosts up to 4.8 GHz and has a 30W TDP. The graphics side uses a semi-custom AMD RDNA 3 GPU with 28 Compute Units, an up to 2.45 GHz sustained clock and 8GB of GDDR6 memory.

The system also includes 16GB of DDR5 system memory. Storage options are 512GB and 2TB NVMe SSDs, with support for microSD expansion. Digital Foundry reports that the GPU is connected over PCIe 4.0 x8 and that performance lands between Radeon RX 6600 and Radeon RX 7600 depending on the game.

Valve previously advertised the system for 4K gaming at 60 FPS with FSR. This is why today’s FSR 4.1 developments are relevant for Steam Machine coverage. AMD has now confirmed FSR 4.1 for Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs, while Valve’s Proton Experimental files also point to RDNA 3 and RDNA 3.5 support appearing ahead of AMD’s earlier public timeline.

The price places Steam Machine above current consoles, but Valve is selling it as a compact PC rather than a subsidized console. Valve’s own hardware page says Steam Deck, Steam Machine and Steam Frame run SteamOS, while the Deck Verified program is being expanded to include Steam Machine and Steam Frame compatibility ratings.
