A new cooperative PvE mode called Rebellion Mechanic is being tested on the Arc Raiders Chinese client. The update follows a recent ISBN license approval that cleared the way for official operation in the region.

Cooperative mode requires players to avoid attacking each other or face map visibility penalties

Arc Raiders is a cross-platform shooter co-developed by Studio Wildcard and Tencent. Arc Raiders combines extraction-shooter gameplay with a persistent world where participants can engage AI threats or rival humans based on their chosen setting.

Rebellion Mechanic introduces a structured PvE experience where players must cooperate against shared threats. Participants agree not to attack each other; anyone who breaks that rule is marked visible on the map for all teammates and enemies to see.

The mode aims to reduce player stress while keeping tension high through social engineering consequences. Participants can pursue goals without fearing sudden attacks from opposing groups, while a tracking mechanic introduces consequences for broken alliances.

Tencent is testing Rebellion Mechanic exclusively in China as a separate build from the main game. This addition comes after extensive testing and supports localization efforts required by regional regulations.

PCGamesN reported that the mode may never launch globally, noting it was built specifically for the Chinese client. Studio Wildcard has not confirmed whether Rebellion Mechanic will ever appear in international regions or on other platforms.

The testing phase demonstrates how local licensing rules influence the release of features in international markets. The title keeps adding new material as developers manage varying regulatory standards in global regions.
