AMD has introduced its first Strix Halo-based developer platform. The company released a pre-built system designed for local artificial intelligence workloads. This launch marks the first time AMD offers a direct hardware product based on this architecture instead of relying solely on third-party manufacturers.

The Ryzen AI Halo developer platform houses a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. It includes 128 GB of LPDDR5-8000 MT/s memory and a Radeon 8060s integrated graphics unit with 40 compute units. The system also features a neural processing unit capable of 50 TOPS and a 2 TB PCIe Gen4 solid-state drive.

AMD markets the device for running large language models locally. The company claims it can execute heavy-duty models such as GPT OSS 120B and Qwen 3.5 122B. The platform supports both Windows and Linux operating systems to accommodate different developer environments.
Pre-orders for the Ryzen AI Halo begin in June 2026 with a starting price of $4,000 USD. AMD positions the device as an alternative to cloud computing costs. The company estimates users can recover the hardware investment within six months by avoiding subscription fees.
