Discord has announced comprehensive Linux support with official updates for Debian, Fedora, and Arch distributions. The app now feels native on Linux with automatic updates.
Official Linux packages now available
Dedicated hardware video encoding is now supported on AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA graphics cards. Gamescope Vulkan support enables screenshot and gameplay capture, reducing hardware costs.
Discord makes special mention of the Steam Deck, citing the new update as improving handheld performance and battery life.
The company has not confirmed a launch window for the update.
