AMD has officially announced the Ryzen AI Max 400 lineup, a new series of Pro-grade accelerated processing units. The family includes three distinct models under the Gorgon Halo codename. This release marks a shift in strategy as AMD prioritizes professional variants over consumer chips for this generation.

The top-tier Ryzen AI Max+ 495 Pro features sixteen Zen 5 cores and thirty-two threads with a boost clock reaching 5.2 GHz. It includes eighty megabytes of cache and integrates a Radeon 8065S graphics engine with forty compute units. This model also houses the only fifty-five TOPS neural processing unit in the lineup.

The remaining two chips share similar architecture but scale down core counts and cache sizes. The Ryzen AI Max 490 Pro offers twelve cores, twenty-four threads, seventy-six megabytes of cache, and a Radeon 8050S iGPU with thirty-two compute units. The entry-level Ryzen AI Max 485 drops to eight cores, sixteen threads, forty megabytes of cache, but retains the same graphics engine and fifty TOPS NPU.
All three processors support up to one hundred ninety-two gigabytes of system memory. A significant portion of that capacity allows for one hundred sixty gigabytes to be allocated directly to the integrated graphics processor. AMD has not specified exact launch dates or pricing for these models, simply stating they will arrive soon.
The company describes these chips as a stop-gap solution for memory-intensive workloads while developers await future performance gains from upcoming architectures.
