Bethesda Game Studios developed the post-apocalyptic role-playing game Fallout 76 across various gaming platforms. The game features an online multiplayer setting set in Appalachia where players undertake quests, craft equipment, and engage combat.

The title utilizes the Creation Engine technology to construct its expansive game world. Multiplayer functionality allows groups of up to four individuals to interact within shared server instances. Survivors can utilize construction systems to build personal shelters and resource storage areas.

The developer stated that the current map boundaries remain fixed for the foreseeable future. Current Expeditions remain confined to the established boundaries of the Appalachian map. No additional territory beyond these borders will receive new expedition content.

The developer addressed ongoing player interest regarding potential future map expansions beyond existing boundaries. Past content releases included major additions such as the Wastelanders storyline and the Steel Dawn update. Development efforts have prioritized gameplay refinements and system updates over the addition of new geographical areas.
