Xbox is promoting a giveaway where they're offering a custom Xbox Series X inside an animatronic alligator that's 5-feet long. It's a promotional giveaway for US residents that isn't available to buy, but instead as a kind of collector's item. It's an interesting way of packaging a standard gaming console inside this massive animatronic of a gator.
US residents can win the custom Series X-Bite console and bite-marked controller
Xbox is showing off the 'Xbox Series X-Bite' which is an alligator complete with a light up Xbox nexus in the body (on the torso). The eyes of this animatronic are Xbox green. They have 'eyes' and 'pupils' which are also Xbox logo'd. Xbox's press releases makes it sound like the console was eaten by the alligator.
Xbox worked on this with a company called John Nolan studio, which are specialists in animatronics for creatures. In addition to the Series X gator, the giveaway comes with an Xbox Wireless Controller with alligator bite marks all over it. It's this controller that's between the gator's mouth, when displayed.
This gator comes as the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is set to launch soon, and the rumored timing of GTA VI as well. It's not explicitly linked with the next Grand Theft Auto VI release that we know is coming soon, but the timing matches up. We've been keeping an eye on the Xbox Series X (read our last piece on GTA 6 Pre-Orders that Get You Free GTA+).
It's only for legal residents of the United States, though. And it doesn't have an official release date yet. But it's a promotional giveaway, not something that can be bought.

This is marketing over hardware. The console is standard Series X specs. The gator is just a shell. Do not expect better performance from the animatronic casing.
How do you handle thermal dissipation with that enclosure? The article mentions the controller sits between the jaws. Does the animatronic block airflow for the Series X vents?
The article says John Nolan studio handled the build. They are animatronics specialists not hardware engineers. I assume they left cutouts for the Xbox cooling vents. The console inside is just a standard Series X unit.
It is not for sale though. So it does not matter if the price is fair. It is a giveaway prize for US residents only. I can never win these things anyway.
I saw this on my feed during lunch. The green irises look creepy but cool. Is this actually timed for the GTA VI launch or just a coincidence?
The bite marks on the controller are a fun touch. It makes the whole set feel like a collector’s item. I hope the winner takes good care of it. 😂
