Google extends its Googlebook hardware lineup with the upcoming detachable tablet, the Googlebook Duet m. This new addition represents a strategy change in the Googlebook ecosystem that previously focused on clamshell/convertible hardware from partner OEMs such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and so forth. This will give people a dedicated hardware for standalone tablet experience running Googlebook OS.
Googlebook Duet m expands the Googlebook hardware lineup with a new detachable form factor
The upcoming Googlebook Duet m is a 13-inch size detachable tablet. This is the first dedicated hardware for the detachable form factor from Google. Google announced the change in strategy at Android Dev Summit 2026, where they make the new hardware available as a key player in the ever-expanding Googlebook lineup. Google also reveals that the Googlebook is an expansive platform for large screen form factors, such as clamshell, convertible, and now detachable.
The upcoming Googlebook Duet m is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity CX C10 Max chipset manufactured using 3 nm process node. This means the tablet features a combination of high-performance and efficient CPU cores, such as Cortex-X925, Cortex-X4, and Cortex-A720 CPU cores. The 3nm chipset indicates the focus on power efficiency and density in a portable form factor.
There's no information on the release date of Googlebook Duet m, nor do we have a price tag on it. The expectation is that it will support an active stylus, like other attempts from companies like Lenovo before. There's no immediate availability on the horizon, so the best we can do is wait for more information.

Google finally making their own detachable hardware. This shifts the whole ecosystem away from just Acer and Lenovo partnerships.
3nm dimensity chip in a 13 inch slab? sounds like a serious power draw to me. 🤔
The article says no release date. Stop guessing Q4. It could be 2027.
