Unofficial Skyrim Android port fixes crashes and restores audio on mobile
ANDROID

What if you could play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on your mobile device without any cloud or remote desktop? Now you can thanks to an unofficial Android port. A developer has made an Android native port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 2011 PC version to mobile phones. It's important as now you can experience all of Tamriel on-the-go with touch inputs or with an external gamepad.

The work is done by a developer called ttom795. They're working on this without any help from Bethesda. It's a 64-bit ARM native port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The unofficial port is based on the 2011 original PC version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That means no Special/Anniversary Edition support. You will need a valid copy of the game on .

In order to play this native Android port of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you need an Android 9 or later with 64-bit ARM CPU and Vulkan 1.1 graphics. The developer has included a custom on-screen button for touch inputs. They've also included gyro aim for a better experience. You can also play with an external gamepad if that's more your speed.

They've patched the latest version of this port to improve stability. There were some issues previously that caused a less-than-ideal experience. For example, they've fixed the visual glitches that occurred on Mali GPU-powered devices.

They've also added voice and music back into the game. Previously, you weren't able to hear that. The game was crashing after 10-15 minutes of gameplay. They've fixed that.

This is an unofficial community project and isn't an official Bethesda product. If you want to experience The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on your mobile device with this unofficial version, you will need to download the port files and set it up based on your Steam copy of the game. It only supports the base game version in Steam (update 1.9.32.0.8).

Vulkan 1.1 on ARM is a heavy lift for a 2011 engine. The crash fixes suggest they finally stabilized the memory manager. Good work by ttom795.

Does the gyro aim actually work well for archery or is it just jittery on small screens? I need to know if I can play without a controller.

Gyro is fine for looking around but terrible for precision shooting. You will need a gamepad for any real combat. Touch buttons are clunky.
