- Shutdown Date: March 23, 2027 at 00:00 UTC
- Platforms: Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android
- Release Date: July 21, 2021
- Final Update: November 12
Pokemon Unite launched on July 21, 2021, as a free-to-play service that's been in action for nearly five years. The Pokemon Company announced that the service for Pokemon Unite will come to an end at 00:00 UTC on Tuesday, March 23, 2027.
This will be the final nail in the coffin for Pokemon Unite, as they previously removed it from any form of official competition. Remember, the game was free all along so you don't have to worry about refunds for anything you paid for.
A last-minute update will be on November 12th to get servers in shape for the shutdown. This update will add a feature called 'library' that lets players check out their own records and Holowear.
Premium currency (Aeos Gem) is no longer for sale. Unite Club subscriptions are not available for new sign-ups.
You can still use up your remaining Aeos Gems until the final shutdown. In a statement, The Pokemon Company thanked players for their support.
They made it clear that on the stated date, the game will stop in its entirety. No more content updates or live service event things will be happening after the update on November 12th. Make sure to use up any leftover in-game currency before the cutoff.
