AMD is patching jittery frame pacing issue with FSR Frame Generation on their new RX 9000 Series Radeon GPUs. This is important because uneven frame pacing in games can lead to a choppy or uneven gaming experience. Even if average frame rates are high, the actual experience can suffer from erratic frame delivery. With this patch, games that support it, will provide a smoother gaming experience for those with these new GPUs when the driver update becomes available.

Adrenalin 26.10.1 driver update stabilizes frame delivery for new GPUs
AMD made this announcement during a presentation on October 20. According to Jack Huynh, SVP and GM of Computing and Graphics Group at AMD, they will be introducing new improvements for FSR Frame Generation. AMD has officially confirmed that they are pushing these new improvements to Radeon RX 9000 Series GPUs for better frame pacing.
Hardware Unboxed tested the new GPUs and found significant frame pacing issues with FSR 4 Frame Generation on the new GPUs. They found a lot of jitter which hurt the gaming experience. While AMD has not shared details on exactly how they fixed this, it appears to be rather light on details. It is also unknown if the same patch will be coming to the older Radeon GPUs, like RX 7000 Series, or not.

The new Adrenalin 26.10.1 driver update is introducing FSR 4.1 upscaling to the Radeon RX 6000 GPUs and Ryzen APUs as well. This means the upscaling technology is now accessible on even older generations of hardware. AMD has been adding experimental Multi Frame Generation options to their drivers, but they don't work with the current hardware. Multi Frame Generation for FSR Diamond is in the works with Microsoft for Project Helix, but isn't yet available for regular Radeon GPUs.
This patch specifically will remedy the immediate issues with performance that were found when the RX 9000 series was tested initially. This update will stabilize frame delivery for those using the latest AMD GPU hardware. Gamers will have a smoother experience on supported games with this driver update.
