On October 22, CD Projekt launched Cyberpunk 2077 version 2.5, which includes content based on the upcoming Edgerunners 2 anime. Version 2.5 will provide a new side quest and gear set in the game that directly connects to the new Netflix anime. It is the latest post-launch content in what's been a long saga of support for the game.
New update brings dual wielding, Edgerunners 2 quest, and mod.io support
Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 40 million copies around the globe. This means that for those of you that want to get in on the new content based on the Edgerunners 2 before the anime hits the air, you can do so right now.
The new update adds a new playstyle called Dual Wielding where you can wield dual weapons at once with special perks like Double Trouble. The game also now lets you glamdoc your cyberware and take Night City Tours. CD Projekt noted the game includes a new quest before the anime. You can get gung-ho with the new combat and find new mods created by the community.
CD Projekt has added support for DLSS 4.5 and Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors in version 2.5. The new update also includes Cross Platform Mod Support with Mod.io. This will be available for PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version was also launched today and received save error fixes. All of this is designed to help with performance and access to mods on all of the supported systems.
During the last Cyberpunk 2077 update coverage, some of the same topics in terms of balance and stability were discussed. The new update is sticking with that pattern as it looks to tweak game systems and include new features. The Phantom Liberty DLC has sold 15 million copies.
So it is clear there's still a lot of interest in the game. The new update is available now for all platforms.
