Plex is raising the price of its Lifetime Plex Pass subscription by $500. The new cost stands at $750 USD (about $750), up from the previous $250 USD (about $250) tier.

Current Plex Pass holders will keep their original lower rates when the new pricing structure takes effect next year.
This pricing adjustment takes effect on July 1, 2026. Customers who currently hold a Lifetime Plex Pass will retain their existing lower rate and are not subject to this increase.
The company states that software evolution has expanded the features included in the pass over time. This revenue shift ensures continued investment into building and maintaining the personal media platform while preserving the lifetime purchase option.
Plex has not confirmed a specific launch window for any related changes beyond the July 1, 2026 effective date.
