SCS Software is preparing a significant expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2 that brings the dense road networks of Turkey into the simulation. This update matters to players who enjoy long-haul logistics and detailed map exploration, as it introduces a new region with complex infrastructure. The development team has focused heavily on recreating the specific geometry of Turkish highways to ensure authenticity.
SCS Software uses prototypes to build Turkish highway network
The upcoming content pack, titled Soul of Anatolia, aims to replicate Turkish roads and infrastructure with high fidelity. SCS Software is currently in the development phase, using internal tools to build and test these new environments. The project involves creating a large-scale map that integrates seamlessly with the existing game world while maintaining performance standards.
Map designer Pavel highlighted the scale of the undertaking, noting that the DLC features over a hundred large highway interchanges. To manage this complexity, the team uses pre-assembled prototypes on a test map to verify that each interchange matches real-life counterparts. This method ensures that the layout meets their design requirements before final implementation.
The developers are currently working through the challenge of fitting all these large structures onto the final map without compromising visual quality. No specific release date or window has been announced for the Soul of Anatolia DLC. Players can currently add the expansion to their wishlists on Steam while awaiting further updates from the studio.
