The KytyPlus emulator fork has achieved a notable technical milestone by booting Silent Hill 2 Remake on integrated graphics hardware. This development matters because it proves that PS5 emulation is no longer confined to high-end dedicated GPUs. Users with standard laptop chips can now access titles that previously required expensive desktop rigs.

KytyPlus operates as a fork of the KytyPS5 emulator and runs without Sony's proprietary firmware. The project targets PC users who want to play PS5 games on their existing hardware. It relies on the Vulkan graphics API for rendering and includes 1.0 support for resolution scaling.

Testing was conducted on a system equipped with an Radeon 840M iGPU and a Ryzen AI 5 340 processor. The machine utilized approximately 15GB of shared system RAM for the emulation task. These components represent typical configurations for modern thin-and-light laptops rather than gaming workstations.

The emulator successfully reached the content warning screen at approximately 4 frames per second. It maintained this performance without crashing or displaying graphical corruption. The base KytyPS5 version still crashes on the same title, highlighting the improvements in the KytyPlus fork.

Whether integrated graphics can ever run PS5 games at playable speeds remains an open question. Current performance levels indicate that the experience is more of a technical proof-of-concept than a viable gaming method.
