Saber Interactive has released hotfix 14.1 for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, and the changes directly impact how players engage with high-tier enemies. The update tightens the balance for the Heroic Stalker Bolt Rifle, making it harder to spot targets but easier to trigger detection once you get close. The reduction in required shots encourages precise aiming rather than indiscriminate firing, helping players eliminate enemies more effectively.
Saber Interactive tightens balance for high-tier enemies in global update
The patch, identified as version 1.014.001, arrived globally on August 11. The update modifies weapon damage values and detection ranges to address balance concerns identified in previous gameplay. Saber Interactive adjusted the Heroic Stalker Bolt Rifle to require three body shots to trigger an auspex scan, down from the previous four. At the same time, the scan radius expanded from eight to ten meters, giving players a slightly wider window to confirm the target's location.
Damage output for the Heroic Combi-Flamer Bolter received a ten percent increase, making the weapon more viable in sustained firefights. The Heroic Power Fist also gained a new tactical option, allowing players to fire a melta blast after holding the charge stance for a single charge. Changes to the Heroic Combi-Flamer and Power Fist increase weapon responsiveness while maintaining the intended difficulty balance.
Enemy capabilities saw significant nerfs, particularly for the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer. The teleport ability now deals significantly reduced damage, and the followup beam attack has a longer delay. The significant reduction in teleport damage for the Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer allows players more time to react during combat.
The update includes several bug fixes that address progression and perk issues. Developers resolved bugs related to the Tactical Perk Kraken Penetrator Rounds, the Battlefield Condition Come Prepared, and Siege Mode progression.
