Saber Interactive released Space Marine 2 update 1.015.001 on October 8, bringing the game to version 15.1 across all platforms. This patch adjusts damage values for several key weapons and units, which directly affects combat pacing in both single-player and multiplayer modes. Players who rely on the Thunder Hammer or Melta Rifle will notice immediate changes to their damage output and resource management. These tweaks aim to rebalance the power dynamics between Space Marines and Chaos forces.
Patch 1.015.001 adjusts Thunder Hammer, Melta Rifle, and Hellbrute stats
The update targets specific weapon stats to correct previous imbalances. The One Handed Thunder Hammer receives significant boosts, with base damage increased by 10% and underhand swing damage increased by 67%. Echoing Swing waves damage for the same weapon is doubled, increasing by 100%. These changes make the Thunder Hammer a more viable option for players who prefer close-quarters combat against heavy enemies.
Ranged weapon handling also sees adjustments to improve sustainability. The Melta Rifle default max ammo pool increases by 2, bringing the total to 12 rounds. Its default magazine size grows by 1, now holding 6 shots per reload. Conversely, the Summonable Hellbrute melee damage in Chaos Siege mode decreases by 30%, reducing the threat level of summoned units. These shifts encourage players to manage their ammo reserves more carefully while adjusting their tactics against Chaos summons.
Beyond weapon stats, the patch addresses gameplay mechanics and technical stability. The Pandemonium Penance value adjusts from 15% to 25%, altering the difficulty scaling in specific encounters. Saber Interactive also fixed bugs related to relic spawns, Crucible mode difficulty selection, and various UI and localization issues. This follows the same balance and stability themes we saw in the last Space Marine 2 update, continuing the developer’s effort to refine the core experience.
The update is now available on all platforms, bringing the game to version 15.1. Players can access these changes immediately through their standard game launchers. The patch notes confirm that these adjustments apply globally across all game modes. This release marks the latest step in Saber Interactive’s ongoing effort to balance Space Marine 2’s combat systems.
