Unknown Worlds Entertainment released Subnautica 2 into Early Access on May 15, 2025. The developer also shared a roadmap outlining upcoming updates, though no hard dates are attached to them.
Update 1.1 focuses on quality-of-life improvements.
The first major update, version 1.1, will focus on quality-of-life improvements. Planned features include a PDA Data Bank, Biomods System, Blight Encounters, Vehicle Docking, Fabrication, Wrecks Gameplay, a Voicelogs Priority System, Sprint, storage cache, and passive Biomod slots.
Update 1.2 will center on co-op gameplay. It will introduce HUD signals, a base builder tool, pinned recipes, voice chat, emotes, player trading, revive mechanics, and customizations.
Future updates beyond 1.2 will add new regions, biomes, creatures, and a story chapter. Unknown Worlds Entertainment has not confirmed specific release dates for any of these updates.
