Marathon servers go offline July 28 for patch 1.1.5.1. Maintenance runs 8- 11 AM PDT. Players in active runs can finish before sign- on closes.

Bungie is taking the servers for Marathon offline on July 28, 2026, to install a new software update. This maintenance window will interrupt play for approximately three hours, so players should plan their sessions accordingly. The downtime is necessary to deploy patch 1.1.5.1 across the game's infrastructure.

Bungie schedules three-hour downtime for stability update

The update targets the game's stability and balance, continuing a pattern seen in recent releases. We noticed similar themes during our coverage of the last Marathon update, where stability improvements were a primary focus. This new patch follows the same trajectory of incremental server-side adjustments.

Maintenance begins at 8:00 AM PDT on Tuesday, July 28. Sign-on will become unavailable shortly after the start time, though players currently in active runs can complete them before being removed from the session. Updates are expected to be available across all platforms by 9:00 AM PDT, allowing for early access once the main maintenance concludes.

Bungie stated that Marathon will undergo maintenance and that sign-on will be unavailable during the process. The company confirmed that players actively in runs will be able to complete them before the session ends. Full maintenance is expected to conclude by 11:00 AM PDT, restoring full server access to the global player base.

This scheduled downtime ensures that patch 1.1.5.1 is applied consistently across all regions. Players should expect a brief interruption to their gaming routine on Tuesday morning. The update aims to refine the experience without requiring a full client download.
