The project focuses on modern Microsoft development standards rather than legacy systems. Xodus targets games using the newer GDK and MSIXVC formats, which power most current Xbox PC releases. This technical foundation is critical for ensuring that users can authenticate their subscriptions and access their libraries securely on non-Windows hardware.
Not every game in the catalog will be compatible with this approach. The developers explicitly stated that older apps using the UWP format are not planned for support. This exclusion affects many titles released during the Windows 8 and early Windows 10 periods, such as Forza Horizon 3 and Gears of War 4. Users should expect a curated list of supported games that aligns with Microsoft's current software architecture rather than a complete library mirror.
