Unknown Worlds Entertainment has confirmed that Subnautica 2 will support multiplayer in early access. The game is designed as a single-player experience that can optionally be played with up to four players in co-op.

According to the Subnautica 2 Discord FAQ, the game is being built as a single-player experience that you can optionally play with friends. The co-op mode supports up to four players. Players who prefer to play alone can still enjoy the full single-player campaign.

The early access version of Subnautica 2 will include fully-implemented multiplayer and co-op features. This means that from the start of early access, players will be able to team up with friends or explore the underwater world on their own.

Insider Gaming reported the details from the Subnautica 2 Discord FAQ. Unknown Worlds Entertainment has not announced a specific release date for early access or the full launch of Subnautica 2.
