Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 Leak: Adreno 6 GPU and LPDDR5 Support Revealed
ANDROID

A leaked internal document has revealed the specifications for Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 mobile processor. This early look matters because it signals a generational shift in graphics performance for budget-tier Android smartphones. Buyers waiting for affordable devices with better gaming capabilities should pay attention to these hardware changes.

A leaked datasheet reveals the Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 specifications.

Leaked specs show Adreno 6 GPU and LPDDR5 support for budget phones

The chipset, identified by the model number SM4875, represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor. It retains the familiar CPU architecture of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 but introduces a major improvement in the graphics processing unit. This combination suggests Qualcomm is focusing on visual performance rather than raw processing speed for this segment.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 6 Specifications

  • Process Node: TSMC 4nm
  • CPU Configuration: 2x Cortex-A78 (256KB L2) + 6x Cortex-A55 (64KB L2), 1MB L3
  • GPU: Adreno 6 series
  • Memory Support: Dual-channel LPDDR5 at 3200MHz, LPDDR4X
  • Connectivity Options: WCN3998-2 (Wi-Fi 5 + BT 5.2) or WCN6750 (Wi-Fi 6)

The processor is built on TSMC's 4nm process node, which improves power efficiency compared to older manufacturing methods. The CPU configuration consists of two Cortex-A78 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. These cores share a 1MB L3 cache and utilize specific L2 cache allocations for each core type. The entire chip is housed in a PSP917 package measuring 11.1 by 12.0 millimeters.

Memory support has expanded to include dual-channel LPDDR5 running at 3200MHz, while still maintaining compatibility with LPDDR4X. The most notable hardware change is the GPU upgrade from the older Adreno 4 series to the newer Adreno 6 series. Connectivity options vary between the WCN3998-2 module with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2, or the premium WCN6750 module with Wi-Fi 6 support.

These specifications come from a leaked datasheet and have not been officially confirmed by Qualcomm. Real-world performance benchmarks are currently unavailable, so actual gaming and efficiency results remain unknown. We will need official confirmation and testing before drawing definitive conclusions about the chip's capabilities.
