Samsung overtakes Apple in the latest American Customer Satisfaction Index smartphone rankings, with industry average rising to 79 points amid growing acceptance of AI utilities.

Samsung has overtaken Apple in the United States smartphone customer satisfaction rankings, according to a recent report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index. The survey places Samsung at the top of the industry with an overall score of 81 points. Apple followed closely behind with a score of 80 points. The broader industry average also improved, rising by one percent to reach 79 points.

Survey results highlight shifting consumer attitudes toward integrated software features and AI tools across major brands.

Samsung's Galaxy S series led all smartphone categories in customer satisfaction scores with 84 points. Apple's latest iPhone lineup scored 82 points in the same category. Google's flagship smartphones trailed both competitors at 80 points. The survey marks the first time AI-related features were included as a specific metric for consumer evaluation.

Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone leading customer satisfaction rankings

Consumers now view artificial intelligence tools as practical utilities rather than experimental additions, according to the report findings. This shift in perception contributed to the overall satisfaction metrics across major smartphone brands. Samsung's lead in the rankings reflects this changing consumer attitude toward integrated software features.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index tracks these metrics through its annual survey methodology. The organization has not confirmed whether AI feature scoring will remain a standard category in future reports. Industry observers note that customer sentiment shifts rapidly as new technologies mature.
