The Galaxy Z Flip8 continues as a clamshell design in Samsung's current lineup of smartphones. Using an in-house Exynos chip in certain markets represents a targeted adjustment in parts selection for this type of phone. The Exynos 2600 serves as the primary system-on-chip for the South Korean and European markets of the Galaxy Z Flip8. Qualcomm Snapdragon processors will handle processing duties in all other global regions where the device launches. The company also confirmed that its other upcoming foldable models, including the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the new Galaxy Z Fold Wide, will strictly use Snapdragon chips without regional Exynos variants.
Samsung aims to protect profit margins by utilizing cheaper Exynos components amid rising costs for RAM and flash memory. Limited availability of essential memory components has increased costs, leading to budget adjustments throughout the product range. The Exynos 2600 already powers the Galaxy S26 and S26+ models in regions outside North America, China, and Japan, establishing a precedent for this silicon choice.
