Retro Remake has opened pre-orders for the SuperStation One Transparent Collection, a new variant of its PlayStation 1-inspired FPGA console. Buyers who wanted the original connectivity features are out of luck, as this edition strips out Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. The immediate sell-out of two colorways shows that collectors still want the hardware, even with fewer features.

Translucent PS1-style FPGA console drops wireless features and storage for same price

The console runs on FPGA hardware and remains compatible with the MiSTer ecosystem, preserving the modding capabilities that define the platform. Retro Remake launched the pre-orders on October 7 for a global audience. This release targets retro gaming enthusiasts who prefer the aesthetic of translucent plastic casings over the standard opaque designs.

The Transparent Collection costs $249 USD (around $249), which matches the price of previous batches. However, the package includes only a 16 GB microSD card, a sharp drop from the 64 GB storage found in Batch 5. This reduction represents a 75 percent decrease in bundled memory for the same price point. The device ships in five translucent colorways: Smoke, Watermelon, Emerald, Frost, and Atomic Purple.

Demand for the new variant was intense, with Smoke and Watermelon selling out within hours of the pre-order launch. Emerald, Frost, and Atomic Purple remained available at the time of reporting. The company expects all orders to ship in December. A launch promotion running until October 12 includes a free Bluetooth receiver or AV cable with each purchase.

The exact number of Founders Edition motherboards included in this bundle has not been disclosed by the vendor. Retro Remake continues to position this line as a premium FPGA solution for retro gaming. The Transparent Collection offers a distinct visual style for users who prioritize aesthetics over wireless connectivity.

Retro Remake confirmed the pricing, storage reduction, and connectivity cuts in its official pre-order announcement. The product ships globally in December with the specified bundled accessories. Collectors should verify colorway availability before committing to the $249 price tag.
