Mobile gamers can finally access the PlayStation franchise on their phones without regional restrictions. Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is now available globally on Android and iOS, opening the title to a much wider audience than before. This global launch removes the previous barriers that limited access to select markets, allowing players in most regions to download the game immediately.
PlayStation mobile shooter expands to worldwide Android and iOS markets
The game is a free-to-play hero shooter developed by Oh Bibi in collaboration with PlayStation Studios. Players choose from a roster of characters, each equipped with unique abilities and weapons. The core loop involves fighting against other players and AI-controlled monsters or bosses in various competitive modes.
Ranger Rumble features six distinct battle modes to keep gameplay varied. These modes include traditional battle royale formats, 3v3 team matches, and PvPvE battles that mix player and AI opponents. The variety in game modes allows players to switch between large-scale survival and smaller team-based objectives.
Previously, the title was only available in select regions, which excluded many potential players. The global release now makes the game accessible on Android and iOS app stores, with the exception of the Russian app store segment. This shift marks a significant expansion for the developer and the franchise on mobile platforms.
When we covered the last Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The current global launch builds on those earlier iterations by making the full experience available to everyone. Players can now join the action regardless of their location, provided they are not in the restricted Russian region.
