OnePlus is developing OxygenOS 17, an operating system update built on Android 17 for its smartphones and tablets. GizmoChina reports that the beta program will likely begin in October with a stable rollout expected in early November.

Beta program begins October with stable rollout expected in early November for flagship phones and tablets.

The update targets a wide range of devices including flagship phones like the OnePlus Open, 15 series, 13 series, 12 series, and 11. The list also covers Nord models such as the Nord 6, 5, 4, and CE variants, alongside Pad tablets from the 4, 3, 2, Lite, and Go 2 lines.

According to an unverified Telegram leak, OxygenOS 17 will introduce smoother zooming for photos and videos. The same source claims the update reduces lag, flickering, and UI frame drops while improving overall scrolling smoothness. Additional rumored optimizations include better power efficiency for small tasks, optimized CPU usage, improved background app retention, faster app launch speeds, and enhanced battery management.

Android 17 brings several native features to OxygenOS 17 including an app lock system, floating bubble support for all applications, an enhanced screen recorder, redesigned privacy indicators, limited contact access for apps, and seamless task continuity across devices. OnePlus has not officially confirmed the specific release date or detailed feature list for this update.

The stable version of OxygenOS 17 may launch in early November based on historical timelines and beta progress. Official confirmation from OnePlus regarding the exact rollout schedule remains pending.
