The software involved is NVIDIA's RTX Remix, which allows modders to add path tracing and DLSS to legacy games. The new trailers cover four specific titles: Mirror's Edge, Morrowind, Painkiller, and Fallout 4. Each trailer demonstrates different aspects of the remastering process using NVIDIA's rendering technology.
Mirror's Edge uses physically based rendering, full ray tracing, and DLSS in a prologue version released in March 2026. Painkiller received an update to support NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction for better image quality. Morrowind is still in early development but offers a first look at modern assets and RTX technology.
Fallout 4 features a mod by Jacob Freeman that highlights the tool's capabilities with DLSS and Path Tracing. The mod celebrates the 10-year anniversary of the original Vault 1080 mod which first showcased volumetric lighting in the game.
