Fan project uses RTX Remix to remaster three key locations
The project is built using NVIDIA's RTX Remix framework, which allows developers to inject ray tracing into older games. Developer GokuwasHere is leading the effort to remaster specific areas of the game world. The current build focuses on three distinct locations: Seyda Neen, the Mages Guild, and Balmora. These areas feature enhanced models, textures, and materials to support the new lighting engine.

Visual enhancements include advanced particle effects and RTX volumetrics for smoke and mist. The project also utilizes RTX Neural Radiance Cache to improve ray-traced lighting detail. To maintain playable frame rates, the mod employs DLSS 4.5 for performance boosting. This upscaling technology helps offset the heavy computational load of full path tracing.
NVIDIA is providing support to raise awareness of the project while the developer seeks community contributors. The mod aims to breathe new life into the iconic RPG through technical innovation.
