New languages enhance accessibility

The new firmware follows the previous 22.0.0 update, which introduced friend notes, GameChat enhancements, and flight mode options. Nintendo regularly refines the Switch 2 experience with system updates.

Version 22.5.0 includes Dutch and Russian as new languages for the Text to Speech feature in Accessibility. The same languages are now available for speech-to-text during GameChat. Nintendo also notes general system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.

The update is available globally as of June 15, 2026. The update is available through the system settings menu. No pricing changes or hardware modifications are tied to this firmware release.
