MSI is expanding its gaming peripheral lineup with the STRIKE ALLOY TMR, a premium mechanical keyboard that introduces tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) magnetic switches to the market. The announcement comes alongside a companion device called the STRIKE NEXUS smart control display, which attaches magnetically to the keyboard and adds practical functionality for gamers and streamers.

The keyboard features a magnesium-aluminum chassis built around a gasket mount design.
The keyboard features a magnesium-aluminum chassis built around a gasket mount design. MSI equipped it with hot-swappable sockets that accept either TMR magnetic switches or traditional mechanical switches. The hot-swappable design lets you swap in a different TMR switch or a more traditional mechanical one without needing to solder components.
Specifications
- Switch Type: TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) magnetic switches
- Polling Rate: 8,000 Hz
- Chassis Material: Magnesium-aluminum
- Mount Type: Gasket mount
- Acoustic Dampening: Five layers of dampening
Technical specifications highlight an 8,000 Hz polling rate for ultra-low-latency gaming performance. The internal circuit board includes five layers of acoustic dampening material and supports full submersion in water while remaining functional. MSI claims the TMR switches offer higher sensitivity, lower power consumption, and faster response times compared to standard Hall Effect sensors.
The STRIKE NEXUS display provides a 4.3-inch touchscreen interface that functions as a numeric keypad, system monitor, and Stream Deck-style controller. It includes an M.2 SSD slot for additional storage expansion. The magnetic attachment mechanism allows the display to be repositioned easily on top of the keyboard deck.
MSI plans to release both the keyboard and companion display later this year or in a subsequent period. Pricing details have not been disclosed by the manufacturer at this time. No specific launch date or regional availability information has been provided beyond the general timeframe.
