Capcom opened the doors to Monster Hunter Wilds with a new Prologue Demo that lets players test the game before buying. This release matters because it gives buyers a chance to try the core combat and hunting mechanics on their own hardware. The demo is now live for , Xbox Series, and PC via . Players can jump straight into the action without waiting for the full game launch.

Capcom releases playable demo with save transfer and new pricing tiers

The demo covers the prologue and extends through the beginning of Chapter 1-3, titled "To the Forest." Capcom included full character creation and access to all 14 weapon types in this playable section. You can experience the offline mode entirely within this demo environment. The game itself launched on February 28, 2025, but this demo provides early access to the initial content.

Capcom is restructuring how players can purchase the full game and its extras. The new Gold Edition costs $79.99 and serves as the standard premium tier.
