Capcom released new trailers for the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion 'Ascendance', signaling a major shift in gameplay mechanics for the upcoming content. This update matters to players because it introduces the 'Boost Bracer', a new item that fundamentally changes how you engage with monsters. The expansion is scheduled for release in 2027, giving hunters time to prepare for these new challenges.
New item expands abilities across every weapon type in upcoming 2027 content
The Boost Bracer adds 'Boosted Actions' to all 14 weapon types in the game. Players build Boost Bracer energy by staying aggressive with their attacks. You can then activate Boost with a special Boost Driver attack or other unique actions per weapon. This system allows you to seize control of the powerful threats that await you.
Great Sword Boosted Actions include specific moves like flinging forward with the Boost Driver. You can also unleash explosive charged slashes and chain together offset attacks. Trailers for the remaining 13 weapons will be released daily to showcase their unique Boosted Actions. This structured rollout ensures players understand the full scope of the new mechanics.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. A Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds is in development for future release.
