GAMES

Microsoft is shedding eight Xbox Game Pass games before the end of October 2026. The subtraction impacts those that turn to the service for immediate, on-demand access to certain games. Make sure to check the list of your games before October 31, lest they be gone.

Double Fine titles and six other projects leave the service

Among the list of games leaving is a pair of Double Fine Productions games. Day of the Tentacle Remastered and Full Throttle Remastered are headed out in this scheduled round of rotation.

In total, six other games leave the service on the same day. Wildgate and Dead Static Drive make the cut along with Deep Rock Galactic. Wartales, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris are also on the way out.

Double Fine changed status this year from an Xbox Game Studios studio to an independent studio. That likely has implications for the licensing agreement of their catalog of games for the subscription service.

Most recently, we covered the last update to Xbox Game Pass that concerned the addition of major new games. Today's cycle is an example of the ever-churning nature of game subscription library management.

As far as confirmed subtractions go, these pull back the list of games for subscribers from November 1 forward. No new replacements for these particular slots have been confirmed for this latest update from Microsoft.
