Microsoft's new games boss Asha Sharma is rebranding Xbox to XBOX. The change follows a fan poll on social media. Over 19,000 votes were cast, with 64% favoring the all-caps version. The official Xbox account has already been renamed to XBOX.
Fan poll drives name change
This rebranding comes after a previous change in April 2026 when Microsoft Gaming was renamed back to Xbox. Sharma also updated the Xbox logo to a classic green color. The move is part of an effort to unify the gaming teams under a single name.
Sharma commented on the decision, saying that Microsoft Gaming described the company's structure but not its ambition. She stated that the team is going back to where it started by changing the team's name. The goal is to have the full stack move together.
The rebranding has been reported by Video Games Chronicle. It remains unclear whether the change will affect product names or marketing materials beyond the account and logo updates.
