Honor has released the Pad X7b, a budget-friendly tablet designed to keep families entertained without draining their wallets. This device matters because it combines a large, high-refresh screen with a massive battery at a price point that undercuts most competitors. Buyers looking for a durable media consumption tool for kids or casual browsing will find a compelling option in this entry-level model.
Budget tablet features Snapdragon 685 and 2TB expansion support
The tablet runs on the Snapdragon 685 system-on-chip, which pairs with 4GB of RAM to handle everyday tasks. It features a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,052×1,152 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 500 nits, making it usable in moderately lit environments.
Honor equipped the Pad X7b with an 8,000mAh battery to support long usage sessions without frequent recharging. The device measures 8.48mm in thickness and weighs 447 grams, offering a balance between portability and screen real estate. Internal storage goes up to 128GB, and users can expand capacity by up to 2TB using a microSD card.
Honor claims the battery delivers up to 16 hours of movie viewing and 21 hours of eBook reading. The company also lists 82 days of standby time as a key endurance metric. These figures suggest the tablet is well-suited for extended media consumption and light productivity use.
The Pad X7b launches in Saudi Arabia with pricing starting at SAR 499, which converts to around $133. The LTE variant with 128GB of internal storage costs SAR 699, or approximately $186. Currently, the tablet is only available in this region, though Honor suggests a global launch could follow soon.
We previously covered rumors regarding the Honor 700, which featured a rear display and a much larger battery. The Pad X7b takes a different approach by focusing on a traditional form factor and affordable pricing for the family market. This launch establishes a clear entry point in Honor's current tablet lineup.
