Fan developer xvibit has released a playable demo of Final Fantasy XVI reimagined as an SNES-style game for PC.

Fan developer xvibit adapts the official free demo into a retro format with turn-based combat and pixel art visuals.

The project adapts the official free PC demo into a retro format with turn-based combat and pixel art visuals.

The demake features 18 chiptune tracks from the first chapter of the original game alongside modified sound effects from classic Super Final Fantasy titles.

Artists from the itch.io community contributed sprites, original pixel art, and tilesets to create the retro aesthetic.

xvibit stated that there are no plans to expand the project beyond the current demo content.
