Atooi is releasing the remastered horror game Dementium II on Steam on Oct 20. This release is important because it takes the cult classic from the Nintendo DS age and allows it to be played on modern PC systems with current controller standards. This allows those who didn't play the game before to take on the game's story on a platform that can utilize high-res displays.
Cult horror sequel gets modern PC release with full controller support
Dementium II is a first person shooter sequel to the game where William Redmoor finds himself in a decaying asylum for the criminally insane. Atooi describes the location as somewhere walls are peeling to show something much worse than the past. Players have to take on enemies, solve puzzles, and survive in order to get out of this nightmare.
The Steam version has support for up to 4K so you can get crisper visuals on your modern monitor. Atooi has overhauled the control system to fully support gamepads or typical mouse and keyboard setups. Atooi also overhauled the UI to a one screen format for better ease of use.
New flashlight features are in to assist with the darkness of the environments. Atooi has validated the game for Steam Deck so you know it will work on the handheld PC from Valve. This means that those with portable gaming setups can now enjoy the remaster on the go.
Dementium II first released on the Nintendo DS back in 2010 with a PC port coming in 2013. Oct 20 is the first public release of the remastered version of the game. The game is available worldwide via the Steam storefront with no region locks.
