id Software released Revelations Hotfix 2 for DOOM: The Dark Ages on July 29. This update arrives as version 1.015 and targets specific stability issues that can interrupt gameplay. Players on should see fewer crashes during intense combat sequences. The patch also resolves UI glitches that previously confused weapon status indicators.

id Software patches stability issues and rebalances heavy weapons

The hotfix addresses several weapon balance concerns in the Revelations expansion. Developers adjusted the damage output for the Skullcrusher Ravager, Tormentor, and Dreadmace. These changes aim to create a more consistent experience for players using these heavy weapons. The adjustments do not alter the core mechanics of the weapons, but they refine their effectiveness in combat.

Technical fixes target specific enemy interactions and environmental bugs. The update resolves issues with the Chain Spear mechanics, which previously caused erratic behavior. Boss targeting for Marok and Xal'Goroth has been corrected to prevent enemies from becoming untargetable. The patch also fixes enemy clipping issues that allowed foes to phase through geometry.

PlayStation 5 users receive specific fixes for UI and crash stability. The game now hides Melee Pips correctly, preventing visual clutter during melee combat. The update resolves Slayers Club errors that previously triggered on PlayStation 5 systems. Crash fixes were applied to Atlan sequences and Proving Grounds combat to improve session stability.

We looked at the last DOOM: The Dark Ages update earlier while tracking recent patches. Several of the same balance and stability themes came up in this release. The developer continues to refine the Revelations experience through targeted hotfixes. Players can now expect a smoother combat loop with fewer technical interruptions.
