Buyers who need a thin laptop should consider holding off on immediate purchases because the new hardware delivers double the processing power. This upgrade path matters because the current base models lack the native AI capabilities and speed that define the next standard for ultrabooks.

New Core Ultra 7 chip doubles performance while raising entry price

The laptop currently ships with the Core 5 320 processor from the Wildcat Lake family. Dell plans to introduce a new configuration featuring the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 chip from the Panther Lake series in the coming months. This transition marks a move from a mid-range mobile processor to a higher-tier Core Ultra class component designed for modern workloads.

This price jump reflects the inclusion of higher memory standards and the more powerful silicon inside the chassis.
