A new mod brings online multiplayer to the GameCube classic Super Mario Sunshine on PC. This change allows fans to revisit Isle Delfino with friends instead of playing solo. The release transforms a single-player adventure into a shared experience for up to ten people.

Mod synchronizes movement and collectibles across Dolphin emulator instances

The project is called Better Super Mario Sunshine Online and it runs on the Dolphin emulator. Each participant must launch their own instance of the emulator to join the session. The mod synchronizes movement, animations, and collectibles across all connected players.

The mod package includes a launcher to simplify the connection process. Players can select from 15 different character models, each with its own animations. The system supports up to 10 players in a single lobby simultaneously.

Progression is fully synchronized, meaning story missions, plaza events, and Red Coin hunts are shared. All players must complete objectives together to advance through the game. The experience requires a legal copy of Super Mario Sunshine and the Dolphin emulator.
